Sizing Info

So that you can confidently order the right size, here are size details and conversion charts for the products by manufacturer.

Kiba Rainwear

The Kiba products are produced in two ranges: the Kiba Flex range and the Kiba Oekotex range. These are very similar qualities of product but the sizing systems differ and the cut of the jackets is slightly different. All Kiba 2 piece suits are from the Kiba Flex range, where-as the Kiba separates jackets, dungarees and trousers are offered from both ranges.

Kiba Flex Sizing (Kiba Suits, Kiba Flex Jackets, Dungarees & Trousers)

The Kiba Flex range is sized by child age. Guidelines for height measurements by childs age are as follows:

Kiba Flex Suits: The Kiba Suits are sized by age and comprise of jacket and dungarees sizes age 1 to age 5, and from age 6 upwards the suits comprise of jacket and trousers. The Kiba Suits are a slightly slimmer cut than the Kiba separates. If you buy your child's age you'll get a good fit now, but best suited for light layers underneath. If you buy up a size, there will be more room for extra layers and another season's wear, this is particularly recommended for the jacket and trouser suits. Ages 11 and 12 Kiba suits are available in red or navy only.

Kiba Flex Separates: Like the Kiba Suits, the Kiba Flex Separates are sized by age. Jackets are a slightly more generous cut than the Flex Suit jackets - but are the same in length and sleeve length by age. Trousers are available in sizes from age 3 (i.e smaller than available in the Kiba suits or Oekotex range). Dungarees are sized from age 1; both trousers and dungarees are offered up to age 8.

For both the Kiba suits and the separates, sleeve cuffs and ankles are elasticated, holding them in place even where sleeves and legs are long, and the bottom of the jacket is loosely elasticated. The dungarees are all adjustable at the shoulders, and for the trousers the waist is elasticated, with good firm elastic to keep the trousers in place even for the most energetic of play! Both trousers and dungarees have stirrup straps to hold them in place under the feet.

Kiba Oekotex Sizing (Kiba Oekotex Plain & Print Jackets, Dungarees & Trousers)

The Kiba Oekotex range is sized by child height rather than child age (used in the Kiba Flex range). Jackets are generously cut in a slighly longer line than the Kiba Flex range, with lots of room for warm layers underneath. The manufacturers size reflect the child's height accurately in centimetres. If your child is towards the top end of the height range, you'll have a lovely fit, but little room for growth, if you buy up, expect to have to hitch up a bit this year, but with room for next year too. Cuffs, ankles and the trouser waistband are elasticated, so that they will stay in place, and dungarees have good adjustable shoulder straps to fit a wide range of heights.

If you can't get the child's height measurement, the table below gives an indication of garment size by age.

Souwesters

The Souwester hat sizes are European and relate to the circumference of the head in centimetres. Children's head sizes vary enormously, so the best way to find the right size is to measure the head around the widest part across the forehead. If you can't get to the child, a rough guide is shown in the table below.

Hat Size Rough Age Range
48/50cm 6 -12 months
52/54cm 18m - 4 yrs
56/58cm 5 yrs+

Regatta

Regatta garments in general come fairly standard sized, so if two seasons use and room for lots of layer underneath are required, consider buying up a size.

Regatta Puddlesuit All-in-One Suit Size

Elastic round cuffs and ankles in Puddlesuit mean that sleeves and legs will stay in place and/or can be rolled up to fit. Puddle suits are also elasticated at the waist, so we recommend buying up a size (particularly for children under 2 years) if requiring bulky layers underneath during the colder months.

Togz

Togz All in One Sizes
Both the Wellie Weather and the Warm and Dry (Fleecy) All in One Suits are generously cut with room for warm layers underneath. Sleeves are generously long, with velcro at the cuffs to hold them comfortably in place. The suits are styled with an extra long body and zip to make sure your child gets as long a wear as possible from them. The suits are sized to fit up to the heights shown below. Since the cuts are generous, only if the child is approaching the upper limit of the height for an age, should you order up a size.

Togz Overbooties are one size up to 2 years, with room for shoes underneath. They are ideal for babies and toddlers not yet ready for wellies.

Trespass

Sizing is standard, but not generous, so consider buying up an age if two seasons wear is expected. In our opinion, although children's head do vary enormously in size, the hats sizing is standard. We recommend that you consider buying up an age for the mittens which are small fitting - although the gloves with fingers are standard size.

Dare2Be

In our experience, jacket sizing is standard, however the salopettes are quite generously sized (although the braces mean that they will stay up), and we do not recommend buying up in size. The smaller sized gloves are sized at age 2-6 yrs, however they would be very large indeed for a two year old - more suitable for age 4-7.

The largest sized-trousers are 26" and 28" - these correspond to jacket sizes 32" and 34" shown below .
